Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Officers state they were notified late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police state preliminary tests indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for tips.
A senior representative commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be solved promptly.
"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
